These 11 scientists are working on a wide range of projects all over the US – and we want to share their stories and projects with you. These are some of the brightest minds in scientific and arthritis research and they are working hard to find innovative solutions and a cure many types of arthritis. Highlights from the 2016 Accelerating Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials Workshop: Making an Impact Through Collaboration

More than 140 experts in the fields of osteoarthritis scientific discovery and clinical trial design joined us from across the globe at the 2016 Accelerating Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials Workshop in Atlanta this week. After two days of lively discussion from participants, the Workshop adjourned with the promise of breaking down barriers to the development of improved diagnostics and treatments for osteoarthritis (OA).

The Osteoarthritis (OA) Workshop is a gathering of some of the most brilliant scientific minds across academia, analytics, government, clinical trial design and OA scientific discovery, and has the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of people living with osteoarthritis.

Making Progress: Arthritis Foundation and FDA Meet to Make a Difference for Those with OA

With several years gone by since the last drug for osteoarthritis (OA) was approved, the 27 million Americans with OA are ready to hear Yes when it comes to new therapies and diagnostic tests for OA.

Fortunately, this past May, Arthritis Foundation met with Janet Woodcock, the Director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and her colleagues. A representative from the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) also attended the meeting. The goal of the meeting was to discuss how the organizations can work together to design and implement new approaches to clinical trials that will accelerate the improvement of health outcomes for people with OA.
